Oh good Lord what is this?

Sorry to depart to the slightly tacky but... can somebody please explain this to me?

Jason and I were in Cost Plus World Market on Sunday and came across this nice little product. Perhaps it is a direct reference to John Kerry from his Heinz heiress-wife's family?

The best idea of what this is wins. What do you win? My my total admiration of your wit and cleverness and perhaps an autographed print of this lovely picture.
UPDATE:
According to this website Spotted Dick is:
a steamed suet pudding containing dried fruit, usually currants. The dessert is especially popular in the United Kingdom, usually served either with custard or with butter and brown sugar. Spotted refers to the currants (which resemble spots), and Dick is a corruption of the word dough.
I still don't want any.

Well, it's either some sort of "sponge pudding" as it says on the can, or it's dalmatian penises pretending to be cocktail weenies. Cruella De Ville would be proud. Also strange that penises (penii?) would pretend to be weenies huh? Ironic double entendres anyone?

Yes yes, sponge pudding, but... from... WHERE?! And why would they call it that? WHY? And who would uh... consume that?

I think you're right on the plural...

It is actually Spotted Richard, but Heinz sells the cheaper, less tasty version so that is why it is Spotted Dick. I think it is also in honor of our "beloved" Vice President. He has all those age spots and stuff. I remember when I first spotted Dick in the group shower during middle school. It was quite traumatic.
Also, RYC about the cow poetry it is one of Mrs. Shife's favorite Far Side cartoons. She has been known to say "Damn the electric fence" a few times.

LOL yeah it's pretty awesome that in this day and age something like that still exists and NO we didn't buy it but we should have! Just to see the reaction on the cashier's face! "Oh yeah... we LOVE the stuff, eat it all the time, put it on pancakes. It's great!"
